2026 HTRC Transition Guide

HathiTrust will cease funding the HathiTrust Research Center (HTRC) at the end of 2026

Users will still be able to search the HathiTrust Digital Library site, with reading and download access continuing for material in the public domain or licensed for open access.

Through September 30, 2026:

• Your access to HTRC (http://analytics.hathitrust.org ) will continue normally

• Your current research projects may continue without interruption

• Our team will provide regular updates about the transition process, including tutorials for downloading and saving your worksets, algorithm results, and data capsule results.

After September 30, 2026:

• Public-facing services no longer available:

  • Data Capsule services discontinued

  • No access to Analytics Algorithms

  • No more logins to Analytics Gateway; only static (informational) pages available

• Services that will transition to HathiTrust and/or other host:

  • Access to HT + Bookworm will continue through University of Illinois.

  • Derived Datasets
